We have got to simplify the complexity of interacting with local government. If we want people to engage with government the biggest hurdle in doing that – essential it boils down getting the government to expand their engagement with the public. One cannot run a business year after year on the same business plan nor can government.
Flexibility and the ability to adapt is the key and if we want citizens to care about public issues, then we should give them the opportunity to get involved. And, we can with the tech-minded approach, bringing innovation that will actually take us back to an earlier time of enlisting the help of people (citizens) and including them in the process.
Government does not have to take everything, the more data government reveals the more we can create a better community. Government does not have to create, it is more important they share – accessing data of the state of Carson City one could analyzed and connect with government.
There are lots of citizens who have been trying for years to connect, but there is neither a Road Map nor a GPS gadget to help you find your way there. We need to change that.
