Empire Ranch

I agree that the factual information should be provided, and having just a meeting for the homeowners within Empire Ranch although sounds appealing, is wrong. The potential sale of this property and the after effects goes well beyond any Ward districting. The position the City may take on this issue effects the entire community, and any all meetings should be held in a public forum. All discussions with City Staff and citizens should be at the Board of Supervisors meeting. If an individual Board member so desires to meet with citizens, they most certainly can, however, when City Staff is at this same meeting then I believe ALL Board members should be given the opportunity to attend.

I sincerely believe the Board should first consider having an agenda item to discuss in public with City Staff this issue.  I want to go on the record as saying – “if City Staff is meeting with citizen groups, such as: businesses for corridor revitalizations; animal shelter and now the Empire Ranch and other such meetings then City Staff should inform all Board members, so that individual Board members can be given the opportunity to attend. Additionally, records should be kept of the meeting and made available to the public.”
