News Flash - John Barrette reporter for the Nevada Appeal reads Carson Now.
Mr. Barrette you did copied my quotes correctly, my basic understanding about reporters would have lead me to believe that if you quote someone, you should by all fairness call them, I could be wrong. If so, I apologize.
Mr. Barrette you are accurately reporting that I ask scads of questions, I would assume this is good, is it? You further state that my questions slow the deliberations, quite possible you're upset because you're required to sit there? I don't understand why asking questions even became a subject in your column? Wait, I asking more questions.
Mr. Barrette, here are the facts- the consulting firms that the City will be using have all been contacted; their packages will be received this week. I simply asked that we convene as a Board on October 24th rather than November 7th to vent and hire a consulting firm.
Mr. Barrette, you vented in your column "do I have political ambitions?" – NO. Because as an elected official our first and foremost duty is to serve, it is NOT to plan for our political future.
Mr. Barrette your presumption that my voting record is due to my belief that government spends to much, no it isn't John, just Carson City.
Mr. Barrette your statement about that I might have "some type of unstated agenda" Would you please elaborate on this, unless of course you have some type of unstated agenda that would prohibits you from doing so.
Mr. Barrette, you took a few minutes at the last Board of Supervisor meeting to ask me about my tie, for the life of me I cannot understand how that was so important that you actually went out of your way to walk up to me and ask a question about my tie. Mr. Barrette if you can do that, how is you failed to pick up the phone and call me to ask me even one question before printing your commentary? Do I understand this correctly - my tie is that important? Fascinating!
To the editor of the Nevada Appeal – it is most offensive that you allow a reporter that you employ to write a column about any person without insisting they directly contact that person to at the very less give the illusion of fairness.
