Update

Your receiving this letter because you are a registered voter, residing within Carson City. As your elected Board of Supervisor, representing and serving this area: my objective is to provide updates regarding some of the issues that have or will have an effect on you, your family and the community in the near future.  Here are a few:

By approving the Downtown re-vitalization plan, this only allow City Staff to review the plan, and make recommendations only. This vote did not commit the City to do anything more outside of this scope.  The Board was guaranteed that the three other corridors would submit their proposal for improvements, then and only then would the Board consider the feasibility of each and how to fund all improvements in all corridors as a community project.

Your water and sewer rates are going to increase dramatically and the financial impact undoubtedly, will impact your family's monthly budget.  I voted against the proposed increase, my reasoning: another type of formula should be used.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

           The reason I voted against:

            a) Eagle Valley Golf lease; because bids from the general public were not allowed and bidding for City leases must be open and fair to the general public.

           b) Hiring a Deputy City Manager; because other similar type communities operate efficiently without this position, the hiring almost doubles operating cost.

         c) Purchasing the BRIC building; because it was overpriced, and I believe the funding coming from Redevelopment Authority was inappropriate.

          d) Increasing fees on your electric services; I believe this increase (funding) should have been separated from the general fund, and it can now be used to pay salaries.

Your input and opinion on these or other subject matters are

appreciated and welcomed.
